Information about COVID vaccine:

Timing of the COVID vaccine for children with current COVID infection or exposure:

The CDC recommends getting the recommended primary doses and booster even if your child has already been sick with COVID-19. Your child may develop some natural immunity but it may not be very long lasting (30-90 days). The primary series and boosters have been shown to provide the strongest, broadest, and most long-lasting protection in both people who have and have not had previous COVID infection.

  • Known COVID19 exposure: your child may be vaccinated after their quarantine period has ended
  • Currently sick with COVID19: your child may be vaccinated once their isolation period has ended and their symptoms have resolved, you may choose to delay up to 30-90 days
  • Received monoclonal antibody: wait 90 days from infusion to prevent inactivating the vaccine
