Testing for COVID- Questions

Who should get tested and when?

  • Anyone with symptoms consistent with COVID should get tested as soon as possible
  • Anyone with a known COVID exposure (close contact for more than 15 minutes with someone known to have COVID) should get tested 5-7 days after last exposure (3-5 days if fully vaccinated)


Where to get a COVID PCR test:

  • Seattle Children's Hospital 
  • The most efficient and quickest way to request an order is to message us through our patient portal.
  •  Please include the following information:
  • Symptoms and when they started
  • Any known COVID exposure
  • Please indicate that you want testing through Seattle Children's Hospital
  • Our nurses will inform you when the order has been sent and will provide a number for you to schedule
  • Results will be sent to your patient portal account
